AmCham Legacy, Diversity  & Inclusion Committee

AmCham NZ adapts to suit the needs of its members.  The working committee’s role and task is to create and promote meaningful and successful ways to engage a younger and more diverse membership.  We collaborate with innovation centers and start-ups, thereby increasing and promoting the organization’s membership, its visibility and prominence, its objectives, and also thereby ensuring that the organization remains relevant to in the years to come.

Key Values and Objectives:

  1. Engaging a younger demographic;
  2. Engaging a more diverse membership to include, but not limited to, increasing gender and racial diversity;
  3. Modernizing the organization to keep on trend with technology, social media marketing and public relations;
  4. Engaging and collaborating with NZ technology and innovation centers with interests in the US markets.  Including but not limited to, working with universities, start-up hubs, investors, and other organizations, as well as locating non-member Kiwi tech companies with US interests;
  5. Providing a forum and opportunities for young leaders, experts, and trend-setters to engage with AmCham NZ and its members in order to educate, learn, network, and be mentored on issues and experiences in NZ-US trade, investment, business, and government legislative policies’ impacts on business;
  6. Creation of a community outreach program;
  7. Re-engaging previous members of the organization who have not renewed membership to rejoin the organization;
  8. Creating more opportunities for membership and participation in Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown, and Hamilton; and
  9. Finding new sponsors for the organization to increase revenues.
